Carl Gustav Jung

Carl Gustav Jung (1875–1961) — a well-known Swiss psychiatrist, founder of “analytical psychology” there the psychotherapy methodology is aimed at integration of a personality, recovery of man’s lost integrity. An author of the theory of the collective unconscious having a significant impact not only on psychotherapy and psychology but also on literature, art, cultural studies, anthropology and philosophy. After finishing his studies at the medical faculty of the University of Basel he worked in the clinic of the University of Zurich, had private therapeutic practice, lectured in Zurich and Basel, was one of the most influential organizers of the psychotherapy movement in Switzerland and Germany. At the end of 1940s he founded in the suburb of Zurich (Küsnacht) the educational and research center C. G. Jung Institute working till now. The Astrolabe Publishing carries out the programme of translations into Ukrainian and publication of major works by this thinker.
