Joseph L. Galloway
Joseph Lee Galloway, born 1941, at the age of 19 headed the bureau of the United Press International (UPI) news agency. During 15 years he worked as a correspondent in Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Singapore and the former Soviet Union. Also wrote to the U.S. News & World Report magazine. In 2010, he accomplished his journalist career writing his personal column in McClatchy Newspapers. He was involved in the project of the US Department of Defense to mark the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War as a consultant (2013), as well as in the making a documentary series by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick (2017). The Astrolabe Publishing published the memoirs We were soldiers once… and young coauthored with Harold Moore.
