Piia Leino
Piia Leino (born 1977) is a contemporary Finnish novelist who has worked in journalism, including the Finnish News Agency, for almost 20 years. For two years (2015–2017) she studied writing at the Academy of Critics in Helsinki. In 2019, her dystopian novel Heaven won the European Union Prize for Literature. In her work, she tries to understand the patterns of functioning and development of society.
