Sappho

Sappho (lived in the late 7th – early 6th centuries BC) was the most famous ancient Greek poetess whose name personifies the female poetry of the ancient world as such. Her songs are the oldest surviving subjective female lyrics in the whole Europe. That is why her work opens the unique Code of Ancient Greek Women’s Poetry, published by the Astrolabe Publishing, which represents the phenomenon of women’s writing, formed in ancient Greece, and which contains all the surviving works of all well-known poetesses from the 7th century BC to the 5th century AD.
