Torquato Tasso
Torquato Tasso (1544‒1595), one of the most popular Italian poets, became famous primarily for his epic poem Gerusalemme liberata, published in 1581. This poem is a literary, partly fantastical, and partly adventurous, version of the First Crusade, in which historical events are only a backdrop for the author's imagination. Astrolabe Publishing has published a Ukrainian translation of this work in full for the first time.
