William Butler Yeats (1865–1939) was a famous Irish writer, Nobel Prize winner, leader of the Irish Literary Revival of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, founder of the first national theatre. Yeats’s works are full of motifs from Irish antiquity, Celtic mythology and European mysticism.
