Karel Čapek
Karel Čapek (1890–1938) — a well-known Czech writer, publicist, translator. In 1923–1935 he was the president of Czech Pen Club. A close friend and regular conversation partner of the first president of Czechoslovak Republic Tomáš Masaryk. His best known work among numerous pieces, tales and novels is his dystopian novel War with the Newts. The Astrolabe Publishing published his Conversations with Tomáš Masaryk.
