Dante Alighieri
Dante Alighieri (1265–1321) — a distinguished Italian poet, prose writer and politician considered as “the father of Italian literature”. His main work — the epic The Divine Comedy — is the masterpiece of the world literature. The Astrolabe Publishing published the wonderful translation of the epic by Maksym Strikha illustrated with the illuminations from the Siena manuscript. The translation of the first part of the epic was awarded with ІІ Lauro dantesco (Ravenna, 2013), prize of Lviv city council (Lviv, 2014) and Ukrainian government Maksym Rylsky prize (Kyiv, 2015).
