Maksym Strikha

Maksym Strikha (b. 1961) — a well-known Ukrainian physical scientist, poet, translator, statesman. Research assistant of Institute of Semiconductor Physics, NAS of Ukraine, professor of Translation Department of Humanitarian Institute of Borys Hrinchenko Kyiv University, Assistant Minister of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (in 2008–2010, from 2014 onwards). President of Ukrainian Physical Society, member of Pen Center Ukraine and National Writers’ Union of Ukraine. Translator of works by Dante Alighieri, C. Marlowe, S. T. Coleridge, O. Wilde, R. L. Stevenson, R. Kipling, T. S. Eliot, W. B. Yeats, J. M. de Heredia, S. Márai and others. He is awarded with II Lauro dantesco (Ravenna, 2013) and Ukrainian government Maksym Rylsky prize (Kyiv, 2015). The Astrolabe Publishing published his translation of Dante’s epic The Divine ComedyG. Chaucer's The Cantabrian Tales, and T. Tasso's Jerusalem Delivered
