The Citadel: Lviv Military Almanac № 19

Military and historic periodical (founded in 2009) aimed to consider important military and political events that produced a notable impact on development of culture and arts, science and technologies, and warfare in Ukraine. In this issue: an attempt in 1898 to predict the course of the Austro-Russian confrontation in the coming world war; on the history of the Battle of Horodok in 1914; the problems of the reinforcement of the Active Army of the Ukrainian People’s Republic by Galician men in the 1920 campaign; the fate of the Soviet cavalry in Ukraine (1945–1959); on the question of Ukraine’s contribution to the victory over Nazism; what Polish intelligence knew about the plan of the first offensive of the Ukrainian Army on Lviv in December 1918; the use of the «field sign» in the Austro-Hungarian Army; history and symbols of artillerymen of the 128th Transcarpathian Mechanized Division (1991–2003).
