The Dictionary of the Ukrainian language of the 6th century Ivan Yushchuk
The dictionary contains more than 13 thousand Ukrainian words of Slavonic origin which, in whole or in part, coincide by sounding and meaning with the words of the Upper Sorbian (7.5 thousand words), Czech (10.8 thousand words), Slovenian (9.3 thousand words), Serbian and Croatian languages (10.2 thousand words) territories of which do not border with Ukraine. It is valid to assume that our ancestors used them before the settlement of the Slavs, in the 6th century or previous centuries, and not borrowed them later. These words are a convincing testimony of the way of life, customs and life’s concerns of our distant ancestors.
