Miguel de Unamuno

This book contains the greatest works of Miguel de Unamuno y Hugo (1864–1936), a well-known Spanish writer, philosopher and political figure. These are Mist (1914), Abel Sanchez (1917), Aunt Tula (1921) and Saint Emmanuel the Good, Martyr (1933). Critics usually define them as existential novels, where thoughtful connoisseur of the soul and passionate master of words, Unamuno, leads the readers through the intricate ways in an inner world of a human being, gradually showing them the most striking aspects of the life: love and hate, sacrifice and selfishness, mercy and jealousness, male and female features, maternity and paternity, the illusion of faith and a desire to personal immortality.
