Military Units of the Modern Armed Forces of Ukraine during II World War: Towards Forming Ukrainian Military Tradition

The handbook offers to readers the epitomes of history of those military units of the modern Armed Forces of Ukraine that took the direct part in actions of II World War. On the basis of materials of military archives of Ukraine and other countries, historical records of service of military units as well as memoirs and researches of veterans of these structures a complete enough list and short history of major military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, that were not only involved in fights but also distinguished themselves on battlefields, are given for the first time in historiography. Their numerous rewards, guard ranks and honorifices attest their valour. The handbook is the evidence of large contribution of military units of the modern Ukrainian Armed Forces to the victory over nazism.
